Payments move from the customer’s wallet to yours. There is no Rayl balance to freeze, lend out or lose.

How it works

Four steps, and every one leaves a trace

Rayl signs each payment’s terms before the customer pays, and a smart contract enforces them. Anything that doesn’t match the signed terms is rejected on-chain.

Light radiating from a single point

Create an intent

Your server sends an amount and a token. Rayl prices the payment and signs its exact terms: amount, token, your wallet, fee and expiry.

Fine parallel threads fanning out

Customer pays

The customer pays from their own wallet, in USDC or in another token that is swapped to USDC inside the same transaction.

Soft folds catching light

Contract settles

Rayl’s contract checks the signature and pays your verified wallet in the same transaction. On Checkout it splits off the 1% fee as it passes.

Two surfaces meeting at an edge

You get notified

Rayl waits about 12 blocks for finality, then sends your server a signed webhook. That is your signal to ship.

Does Rayl ever hold my money?

No. Payments go from your customer’s wallet through Rayl’s contract to your wallet in one transaction. The contract keeps no balance between transactions, so there is nothing for Rayl to freeze or lose.

How does Rayl take its fee?

On Checkout, the contract splits each payment as it passes: 99% to your wallet and 1% to Rayl, in the same transaction, with a minimum fee of 0.05. On Rail there is no fee in the transaction at all, only a monthly plan.

Which chains and tokens are supported?

USDC on Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum and Optimism, and EURC on Ethereum. Customers can also pay with ETH or other tokens, which are swapped into your settlement stablecoin inside the same transaction.

What happens if a payment fails?

The money never leaves the customer. If the signature, amount, token or deadline doesn’t match, the whole transaction reverts and the customer only loses the network fee. Each payment can also only be made once, so the same invoice can’t be paid twice on a chain.

Who pays the gas fees?

The customer pays the network fee on their own payment, usually a few cents on Base, Arbitrum or Optimism. When Rayl carries out refunds and payouts you have approved, Rayl covers that gas.

Can a customer reverse a payment?

No. Stablecoin payments are pushed by the payer, so there are no chargebacks. A refund is a new payment you send back, in full or in part, either from your own wallet or automatically through Rayl.
